i love this room. everything in it. plants, macrame, animal art, textiles, instruments, sexy girl, that chair in the corner (morgan one of these days i am getting one!). i am such a hippie.
recent encounters with art and landscape. i have been trying to work on balancing it all. does it ever get an easier? i am not complaining. i am grateful. i am trying to be in the moment and see it all and do it all.
went to moca yesterday, cruised through the permanent collection, viewed the doug aitken video installation (made me want to dance) and then saw the WILLIAM LEAVITT: THEATER OBJECTS exhibition. it was damn good. i left the space wishing i could steal several paintings for myself. especially the one of the lounge chairs at twilight or the desert landscapes or the houses in the hills. great sense of humor. the show really speaks to the LA landscape / mood / nostalgia. i highly recommend it.
the sale is over and done. it was super good times. morgan treated me to some of my favorite stuff. macrame and red velvet (in chair form). and i found a new bff - summer, who also gifted me the best hippie lamp you have ever seen. check out the sale post over at terri planty to get the full scoop. the uber talented and gorgeous laure shot the whole thing. and i promise. after this week. squirrel hobbies is going to get some more blog love.
so much has gone down over in my terri planty world, that poor squirrel hobbies has not had enough love. that will soon change. but in the meantime i must use this valuable space to promote the big sale this weekend!
