la familia

last friday my family met his family. there was an abundance of food and conversation. i was so happy to host all the people i love in my little home. they all commented on my homes decor updates (so happy they noticed:)). they brought me flowers, wine and food. we laughed a lot. it was really lovely. i am a very lucky lady.

yes please

i have the shopping bug. bad. i splurged at the goodwill today. went with my dear friend erica who is a stylist, bad idea. even in the thrift store we came out full and lucky. it didn't hurt that the joint was bumping some sweet whitney tunes for me to walk the runway in various 80s sweaters, blazers galore!
so i am posting the things i can't afford right now but desire oh so bad. there are so many fabulous things to wear and i can't stop looking! what to do with all this gorgeousness. i think all my recent focus on my home has made me now crave some body dressing attention. and that is exactly what i am doing. let us begin with my favorite bags of the moment... clothes and jewelry next!

ladies night

wednesday night i met up with some of my favorite ladies abby, laure, morgan, and a new lady friend, peggy. we began our lovely evening with dinner at fig & olive. fancy stuff. i indulged in a delicious pinot. after the meal we headed to the book release party for undecorate, a beautiful book that features casual yet sophisticated designs. the book is by dwell studio founder and creative director, christiane lemieux. all the dwell studio chicas were rad. i can't wait to get my paws on a copy of the book!
the party took place at the chateau marmont Hotel bar. the chateau marmont is GORGEOUS. if you haven't been you must. it was dark so my photos don't do it justice. it is like a magical old house filled with treasures.

p.s. did i mention this part was called a "tweet up" - don't we all look so hot while we tweet? i know so.

blowing my mind

that dining room is love at first site. i want you sleek aqua table that can accomodate a lovely group of hungry happy friends. i NEED you gorgeous amazing hanging art light fixture, too look down on me with your shining light of love and magic. oh high ceilings, wouldn't you just love to echo with my loud noisy entertaining voice! and last but not least, bright pink in the distance, i see you. i like you.
and the coffee table... i don't even know what to say, but i love you.

if you follow this blog, you know that i am super obsessed with my cats. in fact i just had a gorgeous art print made of them (i can't wait to reveal that one in later posts).
i am also a dog lover, horseback riding, chicken snuggling, earth worm rescuing, rabbit housing, and every other animal loving freak. i grew up adoring all animals from a young age, having grown up part time on a small ranch. i have wanted to expand my animal family for some time now. so... when my dear friend allison just recently adopted this gorgeous pup i fell madly in love and now am seriously pondering making the leap.
meet little cowboy. he is as handsome as can be. i mean just look at those paws! he was such a trooper. we walked in the crazy rain and ran around in the yard in the mud. and he LOVES allison. it is too sweet. no one can deny how rad pets are.

half way there

just some lovely home images from various sources (links to come). i am half way through a salon style wall in the living room. oh my is it a far more overwhelming experience than i could have ever imagined. i don't recommend doing it at 1 am the night before you have to pick up and host the boyfriend's family. bad idea. hence the half way point. in the mean time i had to look at beautiful images of other people's homes to calm my spirits.

p.s. i loved that pink on those chairs so much i rushed to the studio and made a painting in that color to go in my home. it is official i am the artist that matched the painting to the house. what have i become. oh well. it looks hot. and the images inside the big mass of pink still speak to my feminist critique. take that art world!

i am in shock. my heart goes out to all of those affected by the recent disasters in japan...

the american red cross is accepting donations to help in the wake of a devastating earthquake and tsunami in japan.
those who wish to donate can do so at RedCross.org or make a $10 donation by texting REDCROSS to 90999. the money will go to those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the pacific.
the american red cross says the japanese red cross society has mobilized 11 teams into the heavily-damaged communities. the U.S. organization said it is in touch with its global partners in the damaged pacific nations and prepared to help when/if needed.

squirrels and then tattooed hunks!

so i was playing the old "next blog" button on my blog the other day, you know just surfing the old net when i came across a very interesting blog titled TATTOOED HUNKS. yup. this blog kept appearing right after mine! i would go back to my blog and stat over, and there were the sexy beasts, again and again, and again, and AGAIN. oh well. too bad for me.

p.s. i love how even this thumbs upper gets to share his muscle glory on the site with his two tiny bolts as a way in. love it!

i miss the 90s

this grunge muffin hippie girl is missing the flavor of the 90s. looking to that time not so long ago for inspiration in all aspects of my life. aesthetically and emotionally. its true. cranberries on pandora is commonly found playing in my vehicle. don't act so cool. you know you want to.
