on fire.
this is the view from my street of the fire blazing north... too close for comfort. it smells like the biggest bbq ever. the sky is a smokey mess.

chirp! chirp! cake topper.
i made this cake topper for my dearest friends nicole and conor who are getting married very soon in Connecticut... in the country... hippie style (my favorite style). i made this with lots of love... i imagine that little birds dressed in their best just landed on a nest on a cake mind you! and on their very special day! silly birds!
i adore nicole and conor and i hope they will adore this little treasure i made just for them! (i can't wait for the adventure to CT and i will also be in NY.... pictures from the trip to come...)

Denise King will be coordinating the construction of a “succulent quilt”, which will be made from donated plants and put on permanent display in the neighborhood. The succulent quilt is a vertical gardening technique that uses cuttings from existing plants that are contributed by the community. Please bring along some cuttings of your succulents to contribute. Learn how to start your own succulent quilt!"

more vertical gardens.
today i cut cans in half and added to my colorful vertical garden. it has been a slow process, but i am looking up images every night to keep me inspired. my cans look a little daycare gone hippie ... but i dig that DIY goofy happy look.
